New Zealaaaaaaaand Calling

Today's wine hails from the land of hobbits.  This sample came along with a bunch of others, but to me and our guests, stood out.  This is definitely a lovely afternoon wine to be shared among friends and sunshine!  Perhaps if we drink enough of it the sun will come out in support.

Lake Te Wani
2011
Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand
12.5% alc.
Color: Pale yellow
Nose:  Melon, floral and fruity
Palate: Immediate melon with grapefruit and light citrus flavors.  Rich and fruity and would pair perfectly with a picnic in the park.
