Tasted

While there is still no word from France, we are doing our very best back Hong Kong side to find other exciting wines.  Today's tasting is from Australia:

Anuka Bay
2011
Sauvignon Blanc
12.5%
Marlborough

Colour: Pale yellow
Aroma: Floral with slight citrus hints
Palate: High on the acid, overall unbalanced and tart

Again, another disappointment from the Australia/NZ samples we've gotten in. I'm a little surprised, isn't New Zealand supposed to be famous for their Sauv Blancs?  What's the deal guys?!  Luckily there is plenty of good imbibement going down this weekend.  For those of us lucky enough to score Sevens tickets (thanks Time Out!!!!!)  drinking will commence in about 3 hours.  Based on the typical rugby player, I'm guessing the drink of choice for this weekend will be beer, not wine.  Given the range of countries represented, I'm thinking our beer options should be pretty wide open.  If not there's always the Globe :)

Who's coming with me!??  I'm looking for some nice European beers.  Leffe anyone!?
