Great Wines of Italy

 

Tuesday afternoon, HOFWs made our way over to the Great Wines of Italy tasting at the Shangri-la in Admiralty.  This tasting was put on by James Suckling and Hong Kong Tatler magazine.  And guess who was in attendance!?  James Suckling himself! 

There were wonderful wines from all across Italy; Barolos, Chiantis, Brunellos, Super Tuscans, Barbarescos, Montepulcianos, and so much more....

Highlights include:

First ever 100% Petite Verdot from Italy!

Re Di Renieri 2009 IGT from Montalcino (preferred it over the DOCGs!)

Pio Cesare 2008 Barolo DOCG

Now we're off to prepare for our private kitchen wine dinner!  Full review tomorrow!
