Restaurant & Bar Redux

 

As you may have noticed, HOFWs spent the last three days surrounded by all things restaurant and bar.  The aim of the expo is to unite the sourcers with the sourced. Us being a sourcer and all, jumped at the opportunity to spend our third year running in this truly unique expo.

You could find us in the 'World of Wine' section along with 54 other wine companies, wooh wee. Apparently this is substantially bigger than last year's wine coverage.  There was also a large coffee and tea section, and the best part, a giant bar with gratis drinks a la Sopexa.  Thanks, Sopexa, for keeping us 'hydrated'!!


Highlights of the show included popping in and learning a few tidbits at the various wine seminars in the Wine Tasting Theater.

Our guest bartender that popped in and served up foie gras and Saint Emilion Grand Crus to our eager tasters.

Tasting the wonderful Hunter Valley Tulloch wines (Semillon, Sauv Blanc, Shiraz) from the winemaker himself Jock.

A lesson in Sherry production, appeal, and flavors. And of course tasting!   

All the German bread we could eat from EFS--> truly awesome guys!

Drinking some worldclass Barolos with MW Debra Meiburg!


Learning new wine preservation techniques.  Just pump.


And best of all, seeing all of our favorite Hong Kong winos in one place!
